Low-Cost Arm Rehabilitation Device

Founder ยท Botlab Technologies
Problem

Assisted arm rehabilitation hardware on the market was cost-prohibitive for wider clinical and home use.

Approach
  • Conceptualised the mechanical assistive architecture and designed the structural frame and joint mechanisms
  • Fabricated a functional metal prototype, applying ISO 13485 QMS methodology and FEA (ANSYS) for structural validation
  • Ran physiotherapist-supervised trials, iterating the design against patient feedback
Result

Delivered a working rehabilitation device roughly 60% more affordable than comparable market solutions, validated through supervised patient trials.
